Random Psychology Fact -- August 3, 2010

Women attempt suicide 3-4 times more frequently than men.

Men die from suicide at a rate that is 4 times higher than that of women.

Men attempts of suicide are less but when they do it they succeed? Very interesting fact.

Yes, women typically use less lethal means (ex: pills) than men (ex: a gun).

Why do yo think women do this? Why are they not effective on their attempt? Are they really suicidal or just want to call attention?

Thanks for the feedback about the Facts...I've been lagging behind on those lately. Women generally attempt suicide differently than men, using less lethal methods, so they are not as effective. Pills are less effective than a gun, for example.
